    Mother Nature's Wake Up Call

    Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 06:11 PM [General]

I am so glad that our weather is finally getting better here. We've been blessed with sixty degree temps; the birds are singing, the sun is shining with a passing cloud here and there, and the beauty of nature is coming to life. I love it!

My prayers go out for all those hit with the storms down in the southeast. I cannot imagine what it feels like to be in your home one minute, and in a split second all of your personal belongings, your pets, and even(sometimes) family and neighbors gone in a flash due to a tornado or flood. Mother Nature is not happy with how some of us are treating the Earth. I would be mad too. I know how she feels. I have been cleaning non-stop all day long(until now of course), I keep on yelling at all my kids to pick up their mess constantly; I went outside for a few moments and when I came back in I had slid on a lego and just about landed on the floor. Thankfully the wall caught me. But my back is aching and my arm hurts. Boy you have never seen the wrath of a Mother before like I was at that moment. LOL. I yelled at the kids to start picking up their toys, and shut off their show and I made them understand what "could of happened" by leaving their toys lying around the floor. I try to tell them "if you help mommy clean we will have more time to play, more time for the park, and mommy will be happier." They just dont feel like cooperating with me. It's the domino effect, I pick up...they mess behind me, i pick up again, they make an even bigger mess. Eventually, the mess gets so bad that eventually someone will get hurt(usually me) by falling on a toy, or slipping on a spill etc...

I'm sure Mother Earth is just as angry with the pollution, hate and violence, disrepect for animals and all living things and is finally saying "hello! wake up! Continue doing as you are, and there surely will be more devastation to come. You are ruining my beautiful home. This is your home too, and you should treat it with respect."

I only wonder how those people who have damaged Mother Earth can sleep at night. How can they be so selfish so as not to think "hey, we should really stop emitting these toxic gases into the air, and building these homes and corporations in the land that once belong to the wildlife before all that is left on this planet is a big ball of dust." I live in a brand-spankin' new home. To be honest I don't like it one bit, but this is where my kids father stuck us. I wanted a resale home, he wanted brand new. Anyway, I have noticed that they don't care what animals are inconvenienced due to the new homes being built. All these builders care about is money and their own business agenda. I can't tell you how many mountain lions and bobcats have been euthanized in just the past two years because they have wandered into the neighborhoods in new communities looking for food. Granted the drought had alot to do with it, but also there use to be trees and plants and other wildlife where a house now stands. And most of the homes have been foreclosed on, so who really wins in the end?

It's really depressing. And I hope people start answering the wake up call before it's too late and instead of being a beautiful blue planet, we end up a desolate planet with no life whatsoever and no place to call home.
